YTP Ltd was established in 2000 with a Board of Directors made up of two members representing each of the four boroughs in South Yorkshire - Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster and Barnsley. This organization initially was set up to liaise with the newly formed Learning and Skills Council on behalf of Training Providers, Charities, and Voluntary Sector type organisations in the South Yorkshire area.

The idea was that YTP could act as an independent body representing the interests of its membership covering a variety of Educational, Training and Skills issues, with the SFA. Since 2003, YTP Ltd has become a self-funding organization and work independently from the SFA and boosts a membership of nearly 40 Providers from across the Yorkshire and Humber region. Over the past eight years YTP Ltd have successfully won SFA & ESF funded contracts worth up to £8m, and are currently delivering nationally an Adult Skills Budget contract and Apprenticeships, through our Consortium made up of training providers from the membership.
