Welcome to Yorkshire Training Partnership

The History and the Mission.....

YTP Ltd was established in 2000 with a Board of Directors made up of two members representing each of the four boroughs in South Yorkshire - Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster and Barnsley. The organisation was initially set up to liaise with the newly formed Learning and Skills Council on behalf of Training Providers, Charities, and ‘Volcom’ Sector organisations in the South Yorkshire area.

The idea was that YTP could act as an independent body representing the interests of its members covering a variety of Educational, Training and Skills issues, with the former LSC (now SFA). Since 2003, the partnership has become a self-funding business and it works independently from the SFA. Boasting a healthy membership portfolio of 20 members, YTP has collaborated with training providers across the UK.

Over the past nine years YTP Ltd have successfully tendered, won and managed SFA & ESF funded contracts worth nearly £8 million. We currently manage a contract value of nearly £2 million , and the funding is dedicating to raising attainment and offering varied training provision over a broad vocational range. Our apprenticeship programme is incredibly diverse; vocational areas include Health care and public services, Construction, Business Administration, Education and Training, Hospitality, ICT, Preparation for Life and Work and Retailing & Customer Services. We also fund an Adult Skills programme where learners can study towards stand-alone qualifications and short courses.

The collaboration between YTP and the members is the driving force behind the business and we continue to strengthen our relationships and performance. Our aim, is to add massive value to the Work Based Learning sector across South Yorkshire and beyond…
